Home again, Home again...

After a very long and hard week in Eugene helping to care for my grandmother we came home on Thanksgiving night. My Grandma is doing better, but recovering from a broken hip at her age has some ups and downs.
These past two days is exactly what I needed, friends, family and lots of fun adventures. The weather was warm today so I got up and got us all "ducked" out for the day. The kids and I walked our neighborhood blowing the duck horn for those deserving and ate some great donuts. We spent the rest of the day getting ready for the Christmas decorations and then putting the house lights up. This evening we had our good friend the Bruggers and Lila over for supper and the game and since they are Beaver fans and we are Duck fans it was a GREAT game!! Go DUCKS!
We hope that your holiday weekend was just as great.

A November Saturday

Just a nice November Saturday for a walk, and some Play-Doh.  Sam is helping Amy with her Elmo backpack.  Not sure if Amy wanted the help, but there you have it...

Art

Sam is becoming more and more interested in drawing, painting, and making things with tape and cardboard (mostly rockets...).  Amy also gets into the action, especially when paint is involved.  Here are a few recent drawings...

Dad told him what order to put the colors in, but Sam did the rest.  His first real stand-alone drawing.  That's Sam and Daddy under the rainbow:

This was a team effort with Amy and Sam:

That's a hot dog (with mustard) on the bottom, a stove (to cook the hot dog) on the upper right, and a banana tree on the upper left:

It may be November, but...

Sunday was tree-climbin' weather!

Go Ducks (Hoops-style)

Sam and I went to an Oregon Ducks exhibition basketball game on Sunday.  He's been asking for "eye things" like the football players wear, and I found them on Saturday at the Duck football game.  So, he put them on at 9:00 am on Sunday morning, and took them off about 9:00 am on Monday morning.  Here's a couple pictures from the game (and our walk to and from).  As you can tell, we had popcorn.  Sam ate about 2/3 of a tub.   He liked it.  A lot.

Great Week!

What a good week for many of reasons. A new president, Liz, Nic and Kaja are moving back to Portland, rocket making at school that continued to home, tower making, the ducks won a rainy game, and lots of fun in Eugene. Here are some pictures to prove it.

Halloween Night

We had a great time on Halloween night.  Sam (aka Captain Fireworks) was quick and efficient, filling up his basket with candy and even remembering to say "trick or treat" now and then.  Amy (aka Winnie the Pooh) figured it all out very quickly, and started just walking into people's houses when they opened the door, helping herself to handfuls of candy.  The wagon was key for this trip, as you might imagine.  We love our Westmoreland neighborhood, and nights like last night just reinforce that.  We were very thankful that it didn't rain.

Enjoy the pictures below, but also feel free to check out more Halloween Night pictures, as well as pictures from the Westmoreland Monster March parade (a very special event that we attended with hundreds of our closest friends, including our friends the Bruggers - whose kids are also pictured...), by clicking HERE!!!
