A Hot June Weekend (and a Sarah-type Birthday!)

Just an incredibly hot Saturday (100 degrees +), followed by a very warm, muggy Sunday that featured thunderstorms and hail.  We beat the heat in our glamourous backyard pool featuring a very elaborate slide.  The wet bar is very nice and the service is even better.  Here's some pictures from our weekend.  More can be found by clicking HERE!  Enjoy!

(Amy wasn't quite ready for the cold temperature of the hose water...Sam, however, was tickled pink about the whole thing......)

Sunday was also Sarah's 32nd birthday!  Happy Birthday Sarah, we love you!!!

Los Angeles!

After returning from a relaxing family vacation in Orcas Island, Sarah and I jetted off to L.A. to our friend David & Jessica's wedding.  Great times were had by all and without any kids, we felt like we were in our 20's again (OK, maybe late 20's).

Congratulations to Dave & Jessica Fuhriman, and thanks for a great party & excuse to all get together.  We are very excited for you both!

Orcas Island!

We went to Orcas Island (Washington) last week with my mom (Carol) and, from Washington, DC, my sister (Liz), her husband (Nic) and their daughter (Kaja).

The Ericksons drove from Portland through Seattle, stayed at a hotel (fun for the kids with a pool and koi pond, etc.), then across the ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island. We hiked, played, kayaked, ate, drank and were very merry. Then, back across on the ferry and home to Portland 6 days later.

It was a fun and beautiful trip. Great scenery on Orcas Island, and a very memorable and fun time spending time with family, especially seeing Sam and Amy play with their Nama, cousin, aunt and uncle! Enjoy!!! (remember to click on the thumbnails if you want to see a larger version).

A Morning at home

This is how the morning started. Breakfast with a couple of good friends. Milo, Sam the Bear, Milo, Poochie, Sam, & Daddy.

Around 10ish Sam's friend Jack came over. They dropped many items, including but not limited to, dirty clothes, stuffed animals, bean bags, blankets, and pillows down the stairs and filled the space between the gate. They spent some time jumping and having a great time.
When asked to clean up that mess, I never realized what two little boys can think of. They did a great job of getting all the things back upstairs, but when putting the black bean bag away they discovered that there was a hole (that got bigger in the process) that was leaking "cheesies". These "cheesies" are the beans from the bag and every time they jumped on the bag the "cheesies" would fly out. The following is what we discovered when we went to see how the boys were doing. To say the least look at the floor.
Even Amy got a little excited and spent some time playing.
I think it will be Halloween before we find all the "cheesies", but they had a great time. It would be so fun to be three!!
